Tata Steel Golf Tour Championship: Gaganjit Bhullar of Punjab becomes champion, gets prize of Rs 45 lakh

Jamshedpur, Nisar: Gaganjeet Bhullar of Punjab performed brilliantly in India’s biggest prize money golf tournament held at Beldih Golf Course on Sunday. Tata Steel Has won the Golf Tour Championship title. Gaganjit Bhullar played a card of six under 66 in the final round of the competition and won the last Tata Steel Tour Championship of the season by one shot. Bhullar (64-66-67-66) won this championship for the second time after 2020. His total score was 25 under 263. Bhullar received prize money of Rs 45 lakh. This is the 12th PGTI title of this 35-year-old golfer from Kapurthala, Punjab. Gaganjit Bhullar improved his 2020 total of 24 under 264. He made an eagle and four birdies in the final round on Sunday. 24 year old Varun Chopra was awarded the title of Emerging Player of PGTI.
Rahil Gangji gets award of Rs 30 lakh
Kolkata’s Rahil Gangji (70-62-65-67) became the runner-up with a total score of 24 under 264. He received prize money of Rs 30 lakh, which moved him up 26 places in the PGTI Order of Merit, ending the year at sixth position. Angad Cheema of Chandigarh finished third with a total score of 23 under 265. Cheema received a prize of Rs 18 lakh. A total prize money of Rs 3 crore was at stake in this competition. The prize money of Rs 3 crore was distributed among 75 golfers. Jamshedpur’s young golfer Karan Tak stood jointly at 61st position. He received a prize of Rs 127500. Another local golfer Krush Hirji finished 72nd. He received a total prize of Rs 1 lakh 35 hundred.
Varun Chopra gets the title of Emerging Player of PGTI
Om Prakash Chauhan of Madhya Pradesh became Tata Steel PGTI Ranking Champion. He is ranked 10th in the final season of PGTI. Also, he topped the PGTI merit list with Rs 1 crore, 18 lakh, 26 thousand and 59. This is the first time in the history of PGTI that a golfer has won so much prize money in a year. 24 year old Varun Chopra was awarded the title of Emerging Player of PGTI.
