Shailesh Thakre (37 years) is a resident of Koradi and is a friend of Umesh Yadav. No arrest has been made yet. Citing the FIR, the official said that after Umesh Yadav was selected in the Indian team, he appointed his friend Thackeray as his manager on July 15, 2014 as he was unemployed at that time. The official said that Thackeray gradually became a confidant of Umesh Yadav.
Police is engaged in the investigation of the case
The police further said that later Thackeray started looking after all the financial matters of Umesh Yadav. He started looking into the cricketer’s bank accounts, income tax and other financial matters. He said that this player wanted to buy land in Nagpur and had told Thackeray about it. Thackeray saw a plot in a barren area and told Umesh Yadav that he would get it for him for Rs 44 lakh and he deposited the amount in Thackeray’s account. But Thackeray bought this plot in his name.
Umesh refused to return the money
When Umesh Yadav came to know about the fraud, he asked Thackeray to transfer the plot in his name but he refused to do so. The official said that Thackeray also refused to return this amount to Umesh Yadav. The officer said that Umesh Yadav has lodged an FIR in Koradi in which a case has been registered under sections 406 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
