Colombo: India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli said that the passion and support for cricket in the country once again strengthens the Indian team’s determination to bring home the World Cup trophy. The Cricket World Cup tournament will be played in India between October 5 and November 19. Kohli said, “The passion and unwavering support of our fans is what fuels our determination to win the World Cup. The memories of past World Cup wins, especially the 2011 win, are engraved in our hearts, and we want to create new memories for our fans. I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible campaign. We are ready to give our all to make our fans’ dreams come true.”

Team India will start its ODI World Cup campaign with a big match against Australia at the prestigious MA Chidambaram Stadium on October 8. After this the host team will face Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. India will face its arch-rival Pakistan on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Kapil Dev led Indian team had lifted the World Cup trophy for the first time in 1983 by defeating West Indies whereas last time Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men made India the leader of cricket by winning the World Cup once again.
