New Delhi . RCB women’s team ended the 16-year wait of the fans and won the WPL 2024 trophy. After the team’s title win, captain Smriti Mandhana revealed the rigorous preparations made to turn the dream into reality.

From the dressing room to spending time in the camp with the Indian domestic players in the off-season, the RCB team left no stone unturned to fulfill their dream of winning the trophy, which was finally achieved by defeating Delhi in the WPL final on Sunday. .

It was a memorable night for RCB. The players performed brilliantly in the final match. Especially the RCB bowlers made a strong comeback despite a bad start and restricted Delhi Capitals to a paltry score of 113.

Then, the team also performed well with the bat and achieved the target losing only two wickets.

Apart from winning the Fair Play award, RCB also won individual awards in their historic debut in the WPL. In which Orange Cap for the most runs was 347 (Ellis Perry), while Shreyanka Patil wore the Purple Cap for the most wickets of 13 and was crowned the Emerging Player of the tournament.

After RCB won the trophy, captain Smriti said that a year of planning and strategy on and off the field took the team to this point. The first thing, he used to say, is your team and you build it the way you want to build it. This was the biggest thing for me.
