Tilak Verma was born on 8 November 2002 in Hyderabad. The economic condition of his family was not good. Tilak used to play tennis cricket in his childhood. After this, Coach Salam started coaching him at the Cricket Academy in Telangana. Initially Tilak did not have the money to buy a bat. After learning cricket for a year, Tilak scored a century with a borrowed bat and never looked back. Tilak rained runs for four years and made his debut in Indian domestic cricket with the Vijay Merchant Trophy in the year 2021-22. Tilak scored 180 runs in this tournament.

After this, he joined the team of Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2022, where he also impressed the veterans with his batting. Tilak scored 397 runs in 14 matches in the first season.
