Ahmedabad . New Zealand’s experienced fast bowler Tim Southee admitted that it was very difficult for him to make a place in the team for the World Cup and now he is focusing on the process of recovery from injury.
Tim Southee’s right thumb was fractured while taking a catch during the ODI match against England on 15 September.
Then, he has a plate and some screws inserted in his thumb to promote his recovery to participate in the World Cup.
“It’s been a tough few weeks. It’s been a bit of a race against time to get here, but I’ve managed to get here,” Southee said in an audio chat with New Zealand Cricket.
Saudi further said that he has now started bowling and now his aim is to strengthen his bowling. He also said that the thumb is still delicate, there is some problem where it was injured. I had never had an injury like this before.
Be it World Cup 2019 or other World Cups played before that, Saudi has played an important role in the Kiwi team. Therefore, his inclusion in the playing-11 can make the team much stronger.(IANS)
