Two real sisters who went to bathe cattle in a pond died due to drowning

On Tuesday, in Siswan village of Baruraj police station area, two real sisters, who had gone with their mother to bathe the cattle in a pond, died due to drowning. His mother narrowly escaped death. There was an outcry among the family members on receiving information about the incident. Within no time a crowd of villagers gathered. Local divers pulled both of them out. Police reached the spot and brought both of them to CHC, where doctors declared both of them dead. Both sisters were Nidhi and Preeti, daughters of Sanjay Thakur, resident of Siswa. Both were students of Mahamda middle school. Mother Tunna Devi told that she had taken her cattle to the pond for bathing. She was bathing the cattle by holding the string when the cattle jerked sharply, due to which it went into deep water. To save her, her daughter Nidhi Kumari (nine) jumped into the pond and when Nidhi also started drowning, Preeti (eight) went into the pond to save herself. Due to excess water in the pond, both of them drowned. When the noise was raised, people nearby gathered and pulled both of them out of the puddle. The police station incharge said that the bodies of both have been sent to SKMCH for post-mortem. Further action will be taken after receiving the application from the victim’s family.
