Former Pakistan bowlers Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal have been appointed as the new bowling coaches of the Pakistani team for the upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand. These two former Pakistani players have been appointed fast bowling and spin bowling coaches of the Pakistan team. Umar has already played the role of bowling coach of Pakistan team while Ajmal will play this role for the first time with the national team.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Umar and Ajmal will play this role during the Test series against Australia from December 14 to January 7 and then the T20 series against New Zealand from January 12 to 21 next year. After the poor performance of Pakistan team in the World Cup, PCB has already appointed Mohammad Hafeez as the team director and head coach and fast bowler Wahab Riaz as the chief selector. The appointment of Umar, Ajmal and Hafeez means that foreign coaches including Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn will no longer work with the national team. Former South African bowler Morne Morkel had resigned from the post of bowling coach last week while the fielding coach has also been changed.
