Chennai: Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming said that he still regrets not being able to buy former net bowler Varun Chakravarthy in the IPL auction. Chakraborty was Chennai’s net bowler for a few years and troubled the Chennai batsmen including skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Regarding the defeat on Sunday, Fleming said that his team could not understand the situation very well.

“We failed to read the situation. It was a tough match for the batsmen. The wicket had a lot of bounce in the beginning which slowly died down. We are still learning to play in these new conditions. The Chennai team has returned to its home ground after two years. Meanwhile, KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar described Rinku Singh as the ideal package for any team.

He said, ‘Rinku plays spin very well. Looking at his first-class season, Rinku is one of the three-four players who have been successful in the last two-three seasons. He knows how to play in these conditions. There are very challenging pitches in domestic cricket and I am happy that he has been so successful.
