Vice Chancellors boycotted KK Pathak’s meeting

Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Education Department KK Pathak Has suffered a major shock. Amidst the ongoing stir regarding attending the meeting of the Education Department, the Vice Chancellors finally followed the guidelines of the Governor cum Chancellor. Following the instructions issued by the Governor, Vice Chancellors of universities did not attend the meeting of the Education Department on Wednesday. Even except Magadh and Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, no other university sent even a single representative in its name.

No Vice Chancellor arrived

The officials of the Education Department had reached Madan Mohan Jha Memorial Auditorium located at the Secretariat at exactly 11 o’clock for the meeting to be held on Wednesday. Where all the officers kept waiting for the arrival of the Vice Chancellors till 12.30. But no Vice Chancellor reached the meeting. Only one university, Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga University, sent the Controller of Examinations along with its Registrar. At the same time, only the controller of examinations came from Magadh University.

In this way, more than half a dozen officers of the Education Department held a meeting with only three representatives of the universities. This meeting, held in name only, was presided over by Director of Higher Education Rekha Kumari. During this, Deputy Director Deepak Kumar and some of his colleagues were present.

KK Pathak also did not attend the meeting

Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, KK Pathak was going to preside over this meeting. But due to the absence of proper and competent officials of the university representatives, he did not come to the meeting. The meeting was to be discussed in the context of examination sessions. The Director of Higher Education discussed with the three representatives of the two universities present and gave necessary guidelines.

Raj Bhavan had refused to go to the meeting

Actually, the Education Department had called this meeting to review the pending examinations of universities. From Vice Chancellors to the Controller of Examinations were invited. When some Vice Chancellors and Registrars sought permission from Raj Bhavan to attend this meeting, they bluntly said that they should not attend this meeting of the Education Department. After which this meeting became a topic of discussion from education to political circles.

Education Department had given instructions to the Vice Chancellors

At the same time, when Raj Bhavan prohibited the Vice Chancellors from attending the meeting, the Education Department had written in a letter to Purnia University and Magadh University that it was mandatory to attend this meeting. This instruction of the Education Department was also for all the universities. Universities were instructed that if they did not attend the meeting, strict action would be taken. Despite this strict instruction from the Education Department, the Vice Chancellors stayed away from the meeting.

Crisis on seminars on March 2 and 3

On March 2 and 3, Vice Chancellors, Registrars and other officials have been called by the Education Department for an upgradation program. The Governor cum Chancellor has given strict instructions to the Vice Chancellors in that seminar also not to go there. It is clear that looking at the situation on Wednesday, it seems that hardly any Vice Chancellor or Registrar will attend the seminar on March 2 and 3.
