New Delhi:Virat Kohli, the acting captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, has suffered a setback despite winning the match against Rajasthan Royals. Not only Kohli but the entire team has been fined heavily. There was a big blunder from the home team during their match against Rajasthan Royals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday. Actually, the Bangalore team failed to bowl their 20 overs in the stipulated time. Apart from Kohli and the playing XI, impact player Faf Duplessis also did not escape a fine of 25 per cent of his match fee. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its decision through a press release on Monday evening. This was the Royal Challengers Bangalore team’s second offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences. Kohli has been fined Rs 24 lakh and every member of the team has been fined. The playing XI, including the impact substitute, is fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 per cent of the match fee, whichever is less.

If we talk about the match, Royal Challengers Bangalore had scored 189 runs losing nine wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium among the home crowd. In response, Rajasthan Royals were able to score only 182 runs in the allotted 20 overs and fell seven runs short of the target. Glenn Maxwell and Faf Duplessis starred with the bat while Harshal Patel top-scored with three wickets for 32 runs in four overs.
