He said in the media briefing that in the seventh phase, the gazette will be published in Godda Lok Sabha constituency on May 7. Nominations can be filed till May 14. Scrutiny will be held on 15th May and the date of withdrawal of nominations is 17th May. Voting will take place on June 1 and counting on June 4.
Strict security arrangements were made at all check posts
The District Election Officer informed that to conduct the Lok Sabha general elections, all the cells have already been formed and officers in-charge and senior officials have also been deputed for each cell. During the Lok Sabha elections, facilities will be provided to disabled and elderly voters as before. Besides, strict security arrangements have been made at all the checkposts in the district. Apart from three assistant returning officers for 14-Sarath under Dumka Lok Sabha constituency, 13-Madhupur and 15-Deoghar assembly constituencies under Godda Lok Sabha constituency, 5,976 polling persons, 33 for FST, 39 for SST and 12 teams for video surveillance. Special vigil will be kept on anti-social elements regarding security arrangements
He said that apart from keeping a special eye on anti-social elements regarding security arrangements, continuous action is being taken under sections 107 and 110. Special patrolling and special operations will be conducted in the border areas. There will be arrangements for web casting along with security arrangements at all polling stations.
Political parties will have to take permission to hold rallies, processions and meetings
In the press conference, DC said that after the implementation of the code of conduct, now any party, candidate or supporters will have to take permission before taking out a rally or procession or holding an election meeting. Also, without permission, party flags, banners etc. will not be placed on the walls of anyone’s land, house or premises. Liquor shops will remain closed on the day of voting and a close watch will be kept on distribution of liquor or money to voters. DDC Naveen Kumar, Returning Officer cum Sub-Divisional Officer Deoghar Sagari Baral and Ashish Aggarwal of Madhupur, Deputy Returning Officer Shailesh Kumar, DPRO, APRO, media representatives of various institutions were present in the press conference.
