New Delhi. David Warner will be landing at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) as he plans to fly in a helicopter straight from his brother’s wedding to play the Big Bash League (BBL) match for Sydney Thunder against Sydney Sixers on Friday.
Warner is expected to touch the spot on the outfield where the “Thanks Dave” logo was painted during his farewell Test, reports ESPNcricinfo. Their arrival is expected at 5 pm depending on weather conditions.
“He’s been putting in a lot of effort to come and play for us. We love having him here. Last year he had a great performance for us, maybe he didn’t score as many runs as he wanted to, but he was a great part of the group. Stayed around and shared knowledge.” Thunder quick Gurinder Sandhu said, “It was amazing to be around him. He is one of the better players on the team. All the fans enjoy his cricket playing.”
Warner will play three matches for the Thunder this season after his Test retirement, with the upcoming match against the Sixers being one of them.
