A sharp catch came to Kohli on the first ball of the second over of the Australian innings and he caught it. Thanks to this wicket, Shami left Adam Zampa behind with 24 outs in Cricket World Cup 2023.

ICC posted a video of that catch of Virat Kohli on Instagram. Within no time this video went viral. Thanks to three wickets of fast bowler Mitchell Starc, Australia restricted India to 240 runs. Five-time champions Australia decided to field first. Narendra Modi Stadium is painted in blue. More than one lakh spectators are present there in Team India jersey.

Australia will have to score 241 runs in 50 overs to win their sixth World Cup title. Whereas to become world champion for the third time, India will have to restrict Australia to a score of less than 240. India has won the ODI World Cup in 1983 and 2011. After captain Rohit Sharma’s aggressive 47 runs, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored 54 and 66 runs respectively. But on a slow and dry pitch the ball dominated the bat. Left arm fast bowler Starc took 3 wickets for 55 runs. While fellow fast bowlers Cummins and Josh Hazlewood took two wickets each.
Josh English took five catches
Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis took a record five catches in the World Cup final. Rohit adopted an aggressive approach and hit a six and then a four in the fourth over. But he lost his partner Shubman Gill on the score of four runs on Starc’s ball. Kohli started cautiously but soon fired up Starc with three consecutive fours and the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
India could not recover from the initial shock
Australia started spin in the eighth over by replacing Hazlewood with Glenn Maxwell and he soon brought great success to the team in the form of Rohit. The Indian captain missed a shot and was caught brilliantly by Travis Head running backwards at cover point. India has reached the finals with 10 consecutive wins. But in this title match, Team India lost its three wickets at the score of 81 in 10.2 overs.
