We have received information from the state government regarding water usage and we (KSCA officials) are continuously holding meetings about following the guidelines. The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) had issued a notice, prohibiting the use of potable water for any other purpose like gardening or washing vehicles.

IPL 2024: Ghosh expressed hope that the water from the sewage treatment plant (STP) inside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium will be sufficient for purposes like watering the outfield and pitch. He said, ‘We are already using water from the STP plant for the outfield, pitch and other purposes of the stadium. We may require 10000-15000 liters of water to organize the match, and we are sure that we can get it from the STP plant.

IPL 2024: Ghosh said, ‘We do not need to use groundwater for these works. Yes, we are closely monitoring the government’s new policy on water usage, but we are confident of fulfilling all the points in the order. Royal Challengers officials, who have played a leading role in green initiatives like reviving the city’s lakes, also seemed confident about holding the match despite the shortage of water in the city.
