Wayanad railway junction gets renamed after Indian women cricketer Minnu Mani

Mani recently made his international debut in the T20 series against Bangladesh. He said it was unexpected. The off-spinner recently helped India win the 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh 2-1. Onmanorama quoted Minnu Mani as saying – It was quite a surprise and I am very excited.
In a meeting held in the cricketer’s honour, the leaders promised to build a road to the cricketer’s house. Manthawadi MLA OR Kelu said – Discussion is on to build a road till Mani’s house which is about 200 meters away from the municipal road. The cricketer does not have enough money to build the road himself.
Kelu further said that he will ensure that the Indian cricketer has a good road to reach his car’s house. In the Manthawadi Municipal Council meeting on 14 July, it was decided to change the name of the municipality’s ‘Mysuru Road Junction’ to ‘Minnu Mani Junction’. CK Rathnavalli, chairman of the Manthawadi municipality, revealed that the municipal council had arrived at this decision after due deliberations to honor Minnu.
Minnu Mani finished as the second highest wicket-taker of the T20I series
Minnu Manni recently made his international debut on 09 July during the 1st T20I against Bangladesh at Mirpur. He got his first wicket in T20 by dismissing Shamima Sultana. He took 2/9 (4 overs) and 2/28 (4 overs) in the remaining two matches and finished as the second highest wicket-taker of the series. The off-spinner took five wickets in three matches of the series at an average of 11.60 and an economy of 5.27.
