WFI chief Sanjay Singh’s first reaction, Sports Ministry suspended the entire body, watch video

The newly elected head of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Sanjay Singh and his entire team were suspended by the Sports Ministry on Sunday. Sanjay Singh came to Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi on Sunday. He was the chief guest of the state level wrestling competition. As soon as Sanjay Singh started coming out at Ranchi airport, the media surrounded him and started asking various questions on the suspension. Sanjay Singh said that he does not know much about this. He was in flight when this decision was taken. He has not seen the letter yet, he will make further strategy only after seeing the letter.

Sanjay Singh said that he has not yet received any letter after the Sports Ministry suspended WFI. He said, ‘I was in flight. I have not received any letter yet. First let me see the letter, only then I will comment. I heard that some activity has been stopped. Singh was repeatedly asked many questions, but he gave only one answer, ‘No comment’.
Sanjay Singh is close to Brijbhushan
Sanjay Singh is a close associate of former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Brijbhushan is accused of sexual harassment. Singh was elected the new president of the wrestling organization on 21 December. After the suspension of WFI, Brij Bhushan Singh met BJP National President JP Nadda on Sunday. But after the meeting Brij Bhushan said that I have nothing to do with wrestling. I met the Speaker to discuss the Lok Sabha elections.
Sports Ministry said this
In an official release, the Sports Ministry said that the junior national competitions were announced in a hurry and at least 15 days’ notice was required before the announcement so that the wrestlers could prepare. Singh had announced on December 21 that the junior national competitions would start before the end of this year. The whole matter hinges on this.
One year of players should not be wasted
Sanjay Singh’s argument on this matter is that the Under 15 and Under 20 National Wrestling Competition was announced because only eight days are left for the end of the year 2023. If competitions do not take place in this calendar year, many wrestlers will be older. Sources also claimed that Singh’s camp has ready a rebuttal to the reasons given by the Sports Ministry for the suspension. The ministry also alleged that the new body appears to be under the control of the previous office-bearers, against whom allegations of sexual harassment were made.
