The Brijbhushan faction has filed nominations for all 15 posts and according to reports it is a contender to win several key posts. For the post of Senior Vice President, there will be a contest between ID Nanavati of Brij Bhushan faction and Devendra Kadian of Assam.
Assam wrestling association also in voter list
Assam Wrestling Association was included in the list of voters. The ad-hoc committee set up by the Indian Olympic Association after the Gauhati High Court’s order approved the inclusion of Assam in this list. Brij Bhushan had a meeting with the units in a five-star hotel a day before the last date of nomination and after that said that none of his family members would take part in the election. However, he had said that his supporters would contest elections on all the posts.

Rohtas Singh (Haryana), the candidate for the post of Joint Secretary, has reportedly left the Brij Bhushan faction and joined the opposition camp. A member of the Brijbhushan faction said on the condition of confidentiality, “We will not vote for him in the elections to be held on August 12.”
