Two stadiums of Mega Sports Complex located in Khelgaon, Ranchi are buzzing with the activities of the players these days. Hundreds of players from across the country are participating in the two sports competitions. About 700 players from across the country are participating in the Khelo India Junior and Sub-Junior National Women’s Kho-Kho League. It is being organized for the first time in Ranchi. At the same time, the 23rd Inter Sector Athletic Central Reserve Police Force competition started on Tuesday. More than 600 players are participating in this.
The Inter Center Athletics Championship was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Khelgaon by Chief Guest Deputy Inspector General Vishan Swaroop Sharma. The first event in the championship was 5000 meters race. Male and female participants took part in it. In the male category, A Raja Shekhar of North-East Sector won the gold medal. Whereas, Neeraj Kumar Maurya of Dehradun sector won silver and Mohan Singh of Western sector won bronze medal. Whereas, in the women’s section, Shruti MS of KK Sector won the gold medal. Pratima Kumari of West Bengal sector won silver and L Choba Chanu of Central sector won bronze medal.
On this occasion, General Secretary of Jharkhand Olympic Association Madhukant Pathak, Mukul Toppo of JSSPS, Assistant Commandant Dr. Tej Pawan Toppo etc. were present. A total of 21 sector teams of CRPF are participating in this competition. More than 600 male and female players will display their sporting skills. This six-day competition will end on January 21. Players performing better in this competition will be selected in the central team.

In this competition 40 from South Sector, 11 from North Sector, 24 from MP Sector, 40 from West Bengal Sector, 20 from Bihar Sector, 20 from North-East Sector, 31 from West Sector, 13 from Srinagar Sector, 23 from Jammu Sector , 12 from M&N Sector, 29 from Rajasthan Sector, 29 from KK Sector, 10 from Chhattisgarh Sector, 20 from Odisha Sector, 12 from Jharkhand Sector, 26 from Dehradun Sector, 44 from Central Sector, 50 from Western Sector, RAF Sector 39 players have joined from the communication sector, 09 from the communication sector and 15 from the Tripura sector.
West Bengal and Maharashtra started with a win
The first match of the Khelo India Junior and Sub-Junior National Women’s Kho-Kho League was played on Tuesday at Albert Ekka Kho-Kho Stadium of Mega Sports Complex. In this, in the sub-junior category, the West Bengal team defeated Chhattisgarh by 91-18 and won with 73 points. At the same time, in the first match of the junior category, Maharashtra registered a victory by defeating West Bengal 66-33. Jharkhand’s team could not register any victory on the first day.
The winning team will get a reward of 12 lakhs
A total of 700 players from all over the country are participating in the competition. The winning team in both the categories will be given a cash prize of Rs 12 lakh. In this, the winning team of junior girls will be given a prize of Rs 2 lakh 75 thousand, second place team Rs 1 lakh 75 thousand, third place team Rs 75 thousand and fourth place team will also get Rs 75 thousand. And the winner of the sub-junior girls team will also be given the same prize money. For the first time in Ranchi, Kho-Kho league is being organized on such a large scale and the prize money is so huge. Junior level players are getting to see in this.
