Wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel may be being compared to Mahendra Singh Dhoni but he on Friday said that no one can match the former Indian captain and he will focus on making his mark in international cricket.
Jurel, who made his Test debut in the recently concluded series against England, showed cleverness behind the wicket, also performed well with the bat and helped captain Rohit Sharma in taking DRS related decisions. Seeing this performance of Jurel, great cricketer Sunil Gavaskar compared him with Dhoni but this 23 year old player does not think so.

This young wicketkeeper batsman said, “There is only one Dhoni.” Always were and always will be. I just want to be Dhruv Jurel. Whatever I do, I just want to be Dhruv Jurel. But Dhoni sir is a great cricketer and he will always be a great cricketer. ,
Jurrell’s dream came true after getting India’s Test cap, he said, “I still can’t believe that I got a Test cap and then I was Man of the Match. It was a pleasure playing Test which is the purest format of cricket. I knew that someday I would play Test cricket, so this was the moment when my dream came true.” He said, ”I always wanted to play Test cricket. When I was playing Under-19, my target was to play 200 Tests but later I realized that it was not possible.
Jurel rejected the comparison between Test cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL), calling it unrealistic and said, “Speaking for myself, IPL has not diminished my love for Test cricket. When I got the cap of the Indian Test team, the feeling was completely different. There can be no comparison between the two. Test cricket is on a completely different level. Jurel praised the Indian Cricket Board’s (BCCI) move to give more incentives to players who play more Tests.
