Wife found guilty in husband’s murder case, Dhanbad court will pronounce sentence on March 19

Dhanbad: After killing her drunken husband by cutting him with a sword, the wife threw the body parts in different wells. In this case, the court of Dhanbad District and Sessions Judge Akhilesh Kumar has declared Malti Devi, a resident of marshy Rajganj, guilty. The prosecution was conducted by Assistant Public Prosecutor Samit Prakash. The court has fixed March 19, 2024 for hearing on the point of punishment.

Malti Devi had murdered her husband Chandrakant Tudu by cutting him into several pieces with a sword on 25 August 2020. Before the murder, Malti made Chandrakant drink alcohol. Locked him in the room and cut him into many pieces. After the murder, at 12 o’clock in the night, the husband’s head was placed in a scooter, his torso and legs were kept in a basket and thrown into different wells. Cleaned the house by washing it with water in the night itself. The next day, the husband’s head kept in the scooter was taken to the thicket of Tilatand hill Tetulmari and thrown there. She lodged a missing report of her husband in the police station. On September 6, 2020, when the investigator of the case took out the CDR of Malti Devi’s mobile phone, it was revealed that Malti Devi was in constant touch with Chandan Chauhan, Mahendra Chauhan and Subhash Kumar Gop before and after the incident. When the police caught these three, they exposed the murder. Told that Malti Devi herself had murdered him.

Malti Devi had accepted the blame
Malti had also accepted her guilt in her statement to the police. It was on the example of Malti that the police recovered the sword, basket, scooter, clothes and slippers of the deceased used in the murder. The FIR of the incident was registered on 28 August 2020 on the complaint of Vinod Tudu, elder brother of deceased Chandrakant Tudu. According to the FIR registered in Rajganj police station, case number 37/20, Vinod’s brother Chandrakant (deceased) had left home on 25 August 2020. After that he was not known. On August 28, 2020, he received information from the village people that a chopped dead body was lying in the well of the marshy Carpenter Tola paddy field. When he went, he saw that the body was that of his brother. It was cut into several pieces and thrown away. After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against Malti Devi on 30 November 2020. The hearing started after the charges were framed. During this period, the prosecution had conducted the chief examination of a total of 12 witnesses.

Instructions to prosecution to present witnesses in Matkuria firing case
Here, the hearing of Matkuria firing case was held on Friday in the court of Special Judge Akhilesh Kumar constituted for MP MLA. On behalf of the prosecution, Assistant Public Prosecutor Samit Prakash requested for time to present the witnesses. Directing the prosecution to present witnesses, the court has fixed March 28, 2024 as the next date for evidence.
