India beat Malaysia 2-1 in a hard-fought match after thrashing Uzbekistan 22-0 in the first match.In their previous pool match, India came from two goals down to hold Korea 2-2.Team India Leading Pool A with seven points from two wins and a draw, a draw against Chinese Taipei would be enough for them to make it to the semi-finals.
Mumtaz Khan and Deepika have been in fine form for India, scoring goals while Deepika Soreng has also impressed. Deepika has scored in every match of the tournament so far but as the tournament heads into its final stages India cannot take any laxity. Indian captain Preity said, “The tournament has been good for us so far as we have not lost any match.
The matches against Malaysia and Korea were close but it gave us an opportunity to prove our mettle as we came from behind in both the matches. . Chinese Taipei have won just one out of three matches so far and are placed fourth among the five teams in Pool A with three points.
