PCB spokesperson Umar Farooq said, we have not yet received a call from the Indian High Commission regarding visa approval. Our team members are present there. The ICC confirmed the issuance of the visa at a time when the PCB claimed in a letter addressed to ICC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Geoff Allardyce that the delay was affecting the team’s preparations.
Pakistani team will play its first practice match against New Zealand on 29 September
Pakistan were to hold a two-day ‘team bonding’ session in Dubai before reaching Hyderabad on September 27 for the practice match. The Dubai event has been canceled due to uncertainty over Indian visa. The team led by Babar Azam will play the same number of World Cup matches after two practice matches in Hyderabad. The team has to play its first practice match against New Zealand on 29 September.

Pakistan team last participated in the 2016 T20 World Cup in India. Due to diplomatic tension between the two countries, cricket teams play against each other only in Asia Cup and ICC tournaments.
