World number one Inga Swiatek wins Warsaw Open

Warsaw, Poland). Poland’s Inga Swiatek won the Warsaw Open tennis title by defeating Germany’s Laura Siejmund 6-0, 6-1 in the final here.

The world number one took control of the game from the start and took only 30 minutes to win the first set without dropping a single game.

After a short break, Siegmund, who had nothing to lose, began to take more risks, but she was not able to respond to Swiatek’s effective attacks.

Sijmand held his serve to make it 3-1 in the second set. According to a report in Xinhua, Swiatek was at her best and she did not give any chance to her opponent and registered an easy victory.

Swiatek said after the match, “To be honest, it is difficult to play on home soil, because the pressure is more in that situation. I wanted to show my experience and mental strength here. I am happy that I won the tournament, I really I am proud of this”.

However, the Polish fans did not celebrate the doubles victory as Veronika Falkowska and Katarzyna Peter lost 6–4, 6–4 to Britain’s Heather Watson and Belgium’s Yanina Wickmayer in the doubles final.
