WPL2023: The teams of Mumbai Indians and UP Warriors are face to face in the Eliminator match of the Women’s Premier League. This match is being played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. UP Warriors have won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai’s team was second and UP Warriors’ team was third in the points table. The winning team in the Eliminator match will play against Delhi Capitals on March 26 in the final. Mumbai captain Harmanpreet Kaur has not made a single change in the team. Grace Harris is back in the team of UP Warriors. Shabnam Ismail has been dropped.
Mumbai Indians got a big win against UP Warriors in the Eliminator match. He made it to the final by winning the match by 72 runs.
Mumbai scored 182 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. In response, the UP team was reduced to 110 runs in 17.4 overs. Mumbai will now compete with Delhi Capitals, who are at the top of the points table. The match will be played on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Only the top two teams in the points table will face each other in the final. Mumbai stood second. UP had made it to the eliminator by securing the third position, but could not progress further.
Mumbai clinched a resounding victory thanks to Natalie Sciver Brunt’s unbeaten 72 and Issey Wong’s hat-trick. Issy Wong took four wickets for 15 runs in four overs. She became the first player to take a hat-trick in the Women’s Premier League. She completed the hat-trick by dismissing Kiran Navagire, Simran Sheikh and Sophie Ecclestone.
Kiran Navagire fought alone for UP. She was dismissed after scoring 43 runs off 27 balls. He did not get any support from the other end. Deepti Sharma 16, Grace Harris 14 and Alyssa Healy were dismissed after scoring 11 runs. Out of 11 UP batsmen, only four batsmen could touch double figures. Apart from Issy Wong for Mumbai, Sayka Ishaq took two wickets. Natalie Seaver, Hayley Matthews and Jay Kalita each had one success.
