Wrestlers Protest: For the past 20 days, top wrestlers have been protesting against the President of Wrestling Federation of India and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Meanwhile, Brij Bhushan Sharan appeared before the Delhi Police in connection with the allegation of sexual exploitation by women wrestlers. Delhi Police has recorded Brij Bhushan’s statement. Brijbhushan recorded statement before SIT
According to the Delhi Police, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has recorded his statement before the SIT. Statements of Assistant Secretary WFI Vinod Tomar have also been recorded. The Delhi Police has constituted a 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of a woman DCP to investigate the allegations of the woman wrestler. According to sources, Brij Bhushan’s statement has been recorded twice. In his clarification, Brij Bhushan has said to submit some video evidence and mobile data. Very soon the SIT can interrogate Brij Bhushan again.
Women wrestlers have made serious allegations against Brijbhushan
Seven women wrestlers have accused Indian Wrestling Federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment. On the complaint of these wrestlers, an FIR has been lodged against Brij Bhushan at the Connaught Place police station in Delhi. There is also a minor among the victims, in whose case a case has been registered against Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). Wrestlers had to go to the Supreme Court to get a police FIR registered against Brij Bhushan Sharan.
Let us tell you that famous wrestlers of the country including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik have been sitting on a dharna since April 23, demanding action against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers say that they will not get up until justice is done.
