If the pitch is obstructed then they will assess the pitch and see whether it is in good condition to play or not if so they will continue to play on the same and if not then they will see the condition of the other pitch and decide on it whether they can play on the other or not. Let us tell you that the WTC final will start from 7 June to 11 June at Oval, London from 3 pm. If the weather spoils the game, then a reserve day has also been kept on June 12.
What if both the pitches are bad?
Both the captains Rohit Sharma and Pat Cummins have been taken into confidence. If both agree to play after the pitch has deteriorated, they will continue and if not, the match may be postponed or cancelled. Depending on the circumstances that will unfold during the WTC 2023 finals, certain classes will play an important role. Firstly, if the on-field umpires determine that it is unsafe or unfair to continue play on the match pitch, they shall stop play and immediately notify the ICC Match Referee under 6.4.1.

Under 6.4.4, if it is decided not to resume play, the on-field umpires shall assess whether the existing pitch can be repaired and, in consultation with the ICC Match Referee, resume the match can be done. ICC match referees should consider whether the repair would result in an unfair advantage to either side, given that play has already taken place on the dangerous pitch. Under 6.4.7, during all decision-making processes referred to above, the ICC Match Referee shall inform both the captains and the head of the ground authority of the situation. The head of the ground authority will ensure that appropriate public announcements are made in time.
