WTC final should be played at Narendra Modi stadium, R Ashwin demands

Pudhari Online Desk: India’s experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has raised questions regarding the venue of the World Test Championship Final (WTC Final), and has demanded that countries like India and Australia should not be given the hosting rights in important matches. He also underlined that Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is suitable for ICC finals.

Ashwin (R Ashwin) has shared a video on his YouTube channel Nuktaach. It says in it, ‘Both WTC final matches were played in England. The final match of the competition will be played between England and Wales in 2025 itself. But when it comes to changing the place? Is the final showdown organized on the grounds of India or Australia? Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket stadium in India and an excellent final match can be held here. What do you think about this? Another person advised the team which was at the top in the merit list to play the final match in their country. This is also a good idea. But the Australian climate is a bit cooler in June, we don’t know why,’ he said.

India has played both the WTC Finals held so far. For the first time in 2021, Team India would have faced New Zealand, and for the second time in 2023, Team India would have faced Australia. However, both times Team Indiala started facing defeat. Currently the third ruckus of the World Test Championship is going on. Ashwinla hopes that Team India will score a hat-trick to win the final round of the tournament. Reason: India is at first position in the current WTC points table.
