New Delhi: Top Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Friday said the wrestling world will remember Yogeshwar Dutt as the “back hanger” of outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Earlier, London Olympics bronze medalist Yogeshwar had questioned the exemption granted to him and five other wrestlers from the Asian Games and World Championship trials. Vinesh wrote on Twitter, ‘The wrestling world will always remember you licking Brij Bhushan’s feet. Don’t put so much emphasis on breaking women wrestlers, they have very strong intentions. Keep in mind that by applying too much force, the back should not break. You have already placed the backbone in Brijbhushan’s feet. You are very insensitive person. Standing in favor of the oppressor, you are flattering him.

Vinesh, who has won medals several times in the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games, compared Yogeshwar to Jaichand, saying that “as long as Jaichand like Yogeshwar remains in wrestling, surely the oppressors will be strong.” He is remembered for conspiring with Mohammad Ghori to defeat Chauhan. Along with this, Vinesh made many serious allegations against Yogeshwar. Yogeshwar was part of a six-member committee appointed by the Sports Ministry to probe allegations of sexual harassment against WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

Vinesh said, that ‘he kept preventing wrestlers and coaches from joining the movement of women wrestlers. The whole wrestling world understood that Yogeshwar was eating a liar from Brij Bhushan’s plate.’ He accused Yogeshwar of making derogatory remarks about ‘jawans’ of the Indian Army, students and people from the minority community. Vinesh said that Yogeshwar could not win any election because he is a traitor and a ‘poisonous cobra’. He said, “You have fallen on your face twice in the elections because of your betrayal to the society. I claim that you will never win an election in life because the society is always wary of the poisonous cobra and never lets it set foot.” Vinesh warns Yogeshwar that he would be better off trying to break the mental fortitude of women wrestlers.
