Rampur (UP). Twelve people, including 10 minors, have been detained for putting up posters in support of fugitive Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh. Police said the minors were released after interrogation and counselling, while the other two accused were sent to jail. It was written on the posters, release Amritpal. We support that. The posters were found pasted on walls in Bilaspur area of Rampur near the Uttarakhand border.
DIG (Moradabad) Shalabh Mathur said, apart from the 10 minors, two other accused have been charge-sheeted under IPC section 153B (imputation, assertion prejudicial to national integration).
No coercive action was taken against the minors and they were released after counseling in the presence of their parents, he said. Efforts are on to identify those who tried to radicalize him.(IANS)
