12th Fail completes 100 days in theatres, Vidhu’s wife had said that no one will come to watch it

Veteran filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film ’12th Fail’ has completed 100 days since its release in theatres. The film is now also available on OTT but for the viewers who want to watch it in theatres, some shows are also being run in theatres. The audience liked this film based on Anurag Pathak’s book ’12th Fail’ based on the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma. Made without any big star cast and on a small budget, this film did wonders which very few films can do.

People had given opinion about OTT release

Talking about the film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “100 days ago we did our first show on this very screen. Talking about figures, films are earning Rs 100 crore, Rs 500 crore, Rs 1000 crore and Rs 2000 crore but one thing. That’s what keeps me calm in all this. The question is what do you want to do? Why are you making that film? You can touch that mark even by making an honest film. When I was making the film, everyone told me , My lovely wife also, to release it on OTT.”

People said total 30 lakhs will earn

While talking in his interview, Vidhu Chopra further said that his wife Anupama Chopra told him that no one will go to watch this film Vinod. Teri and Vikrant’s film. He told me that I don’t know because I am not connected with films. What’s more, these trade agencies were writing that the film would get an opening of Rs 2 lakh and it would probably make a lifetime collection of more than Rs 30 lakh. Everyone scared me a lot.” Speaking to the film students, Vinod said that he believed in the film and spent his own money to produce it.

He told that although this film got a very small opening but it is okay, because just look at where we stand today. Anupama Chopra was also present during this event and after Vidhu Vinod Chopra finished speaking, she said, “I have had very little contribution in reaching here, it has been possible because of you people sitting here. But he (Vidhu ) Right, I had said then that I don’t know who will go to theaters to watch this film. So today I say in front of everyone that I was wrong and you were right.”
