Jamshedpur: 16 year old young mountaineer Kamya Karthikeyan, resident of Mumbai, will go on Everest Expedition to conquer the world’s highest mountain peak ‘Mount Everest’. Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) will provide its full support in completing this difficult expedition. Even before this, a total of 12 mountaineers have conquered Everest with the help of Tata Steel Adventure Foundation. Last year, Asmita Dorji of Jamshedpur had achieved this feat. Kamya, a student of Navy Children School, Mumbai, surprised everyone by conquering Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak of South America, in 2020. At that time she was only 12 years old. She became the youngest girl in the world to do so. This peak is the highest peak outside Asia.

Had done such a feat before also

Kamya conquered the 6962 meter high Mount Aconcagua peak on February 1, 2020 and hoisted the tricolor of India. Kamya was selected for the Everest expedition by Tata Steel Adventure Foundation during the Ladakh expedition. TSAF chief Hemant Gupta said that after seeing Kamya’s technique and energy during the Ladakh expedition, he felt that she can conquer Everest. That’s why we have chosen Kamya for this difficult expedition. Kamya has been mountaineering since she was just three years old. American Jordan Romerio is the world’s youngest mountaineer, who conquered Everest in 2003 at the age of 13. From India, Shivangi Pathak of Haryana holds the record for conquering Everest at the youngest age. He conquered Everest in 2018 at the age of 16.
