Chandigarh. Punjab Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Brahmshankar Zimpa has released Rs 33.50 crore to all the Deputy Commissioners to deal with the flood on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said that this amount from the Relief Fund has been given as advance to all the Deputy Commissioners of the State to deal with the flood situation and to provide relief from the loss of human lives, houses and animals.
Zimpa said that the Punjab government would extend all help to the affected people in this difficult time. He said that this amount has been deposited in the account of the Deputy Commissioners. He said that Rs 1.50 crore has been released to Amritsar, Rs 1 crore each to Bathinda, Barnala and Faridkot, Rs 1.50 crore to Ferozepur and Fazilka and Rs 1 crore to Fatehgarh Sahib.
Similarly, Gurdaspur Rs 1.50 crore, Hoshiarpur Rs 1 crore, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Ludhiana Rs 2 crore each, Moga Rs 1.50 crore, Mansa, Malerkotla and Pathankot Rs 1 crore each, Patiala Rs 2 crore. And Rupnagar district has been given Rs 2.50 crore.
The Disaster Management Minister further informed that Rs 2 crore has been released to Sri Muktsar Sahib, Rs 1 crore each to SAS Nagar and SBS Nagar, Rs 1.50 crore to Sangrur and Rs 2 crore to Tarn Taran.
Zimpa said that the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to ensure that the payment to the concerned beneficiary is made in his/her Aadhaar linked bank account as per the Direct Benefit Transfer method. So that the relief amount cannot be misused. He assured the people of Punjab that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is providing all possible help to the people of the areas affected by natural calamities.
