Ashok Pandit, co-producer of 72 Hooreen, recently shared a video message and a long note on Instagram. He alleged that the board has denied censor certificate to the trailer of the film before its release in July.

After The Kerala Story, the buzz around the film 72 Hooren is on. Recently, the film’s co-producer Ashok Pandit said in a video message that the trailer of the film has been denied a censor certificate. It is all set to release in theaters on 7th July. Now, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has posted an official announcement where it was mentioned that the film was given an ‘A’ certificate in 2019. The board mentioned in the statement that it had asked the makers to revise the trailer, which is still a work in progress since the latter’s end.

He alleged that the board has denied censor certificate to the trailer of the film before its release in July. Responding to this, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) released an official statement where it defended its stand. The note reads, “Misleading news is being circulated in certain sections of the media that a film titled 72 Hooren and its trailer have been denied certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).”

‘A’ certification was given

Contrary to the reports claimed, CBFC says that the film ‘Bahattar Hurain (72 Hurain)’ was given ‘A’ certification and the certificate was issued on 4-10-2019. Now, the trailer of the said film is under due process, which was implemented in CBFC on 19-6-2023 and examined as per the guidelines issued under Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952. The applicant was asked to submit the requisite documents under the notice and on receipt of the same, the certification was granted subject to modifications. A show cause notice informing about the modifications was issued to the applicant/film producer on 27-6-2023 and is pending response/compliance of the applicant.
