Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 16: The ninth Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival has been announced to bring the best films from across the world to fans of Marathwada. d. The festival will be held from 03 to Sunday January 7, 2024 at Inox Theatre, Prozone Mall, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the presence of national and international artistes.

Presented by the Nath Group, Mahatma Gandhi Mission and Yashwantrao Chavan Center District Center Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and organized by the Marathwada Arts Culture and Film Foundation, the Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival is being held in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, and the festival receives special support from Prozone Mall. Objectives behind organizing Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival:

The best world class films of all time should reach the fans of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, film directors, technicians, artists and film lovers of the young generation and the sensibility of the film should be strengthened and enriched at the artistic and technical level. To reach the global level as a hub and production hub, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar should be able to reach the city’s tourism to national and international level tourists, to the talented artistes of Marathwada division, to film directors, experts and technicians. Films, communicate with them and also reach the current Marathi cinema at national and international level, this is the objective behind organizing this festival.

Indian Cinema Competition:

Many events have been organized during the five days of the festival. Like last year, a competition group has been included in the festival. It includes nine films from different Indian languages, and five national level juries will watch the films along with the audience. The best Indian film will be awarded with the Golden Kailash Award and Rs 1 lakh. Individual awards will also be given for Best Screenplay, Best Actor (Female/Male).

Veteran actor and director Dritiman Chatterjee (Kolkata) will be the chairman of the Indian Cinema Competition Group judging committee. Renowned photographer Dimo ​​Papov (Czech Republic), senior director Nachiket Patwardhan (Pune), senior critic Rashmi Doraiswami (Delhi) and renowned photographer Hari Nair (Panaji) will be the judging members.

Following the awards ceremony, the 9th Ajanta Ellora International Film Festival will screen the closing film of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Anatomy of a Fall (French).

Master Classes and Special Lectures:

Marathwada Short Film Competition:

On the occasion of the festival, a short film competition was organized for the artists making short films in Marathwada. The competition received an overwhelming response from all the eight districts of Marathwada. The five short films selected for the final round of the competition will be screened during the festival. The best short film in this competition will be awarded a special prize and Rs 25,000 cash.

Presented by MGM School of Film Arts:
