South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry under SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 organized the Mission 84 event in collaboration with Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi on 28 March 2024. The objective of which was to increase trade and commerce of the entrepreneurs of Gujarat including South Gujarat with the world.
Organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Embassy of Ethiopia and Global India Business Forum (GIBF), Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB), Asian-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) and Indian Business Group (IBG). The program included Ghana, Belarus, Botswana, Zambia, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, Burundi, Malawi High Commission, Republic of Djibouti, Iran, Finland, Angola, Italy, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Comoros, Uzbekistan and Congo. Ambassadors, Consul Generals, commercial representatives from 21 countries participated in this program.
Chamber of Commerce President Ramesh Vaghasia welcomed everyone in the program. He said that for the first time in the history of the Chamber, the Chamber of Commerce has organized an event at the Ethiopian Embassy in New Delhi with representatives from embassies of different countries. He requested the Ambassadors, Consul Generals, Commercial Attaches and their representatives of various countries present at the program to provide opportunities to the entrepreneurs of Surat to export various products to different countries.
He said that India’s bilateral trade with various countries of the world will be good and if businessmen from both the countries invest in each other’s countries, the possibility of war between them will also reduce. For this, both the countries have to cooperate with each other to promote bilateral trade and guide the entrepreneurs to meet the needs of both the countries and move towards free trade between the two countries. He stressed the immense potential between the two countries to explore new partnerships, identify opportunities and enhance cooperation in various fields.
He said that to lift the citizens of the country out of poverty, we have to move towards economic development. Even in the matter of income, when there is fair and equal distribution among the people then people will be happy. He discussed about 2P’s i.e. Peace and Prosperity. He presented a chart of the contribution of Gujarat and South Gujarat to Indian exports abroad. He appealed to the representatives of each country to provide a platform on how Gujarat including Surat can better contribute to the global exports of various countries. He requested the representatives of various countries present for bilateral cooperation for the development of international trade.
The Chamber President requested the Ambassadors, Consul Generals, Commercial Representatives of various countries present at the event to support Mission 84. The representatives of various countries were very impressed by Mission 84 and fully supported it.
