Surat is known as textile hub. New changes are continuously taking place in the fabric texture and design in Surat city. After the fabric is ready, it is used in the apparel sector. Dr. Ajay Bhattacharya, President, Gujarat Region, CMAI, has been organizing Fab-Shows for the apparel sector in Mumbai for the last four years.
Dr. Bhattacharya said: Surat city, famous for cheap clothes and innovative designs, has also displayed natural clothes worth Rs 4000 per meter in the ongoing Fab-show in Mumbai. Surat city has proved to be a leader in manufacturing expensive clothes.
Today is the last and final day of the Fab-Show: Buyers-visitors will also come from abroad and place big orders. On the first day, some foreign visitors did video recording and video calling of the Fab-Show, the response of which will be seen on the last day and the stall holders present in the Fab-Show will get tremendous business.
Dr. Bhattacharya said: Whatever development has taken place in Surat in the last two-three years has taken place only in the weaving sector. The garment industry will get the same opportunity that Surat got in the 1980s again in the coming decades. These opportunities will take the entire industry to new heights.
Organic, sustainable and futuristic fabrics have been showcased by Surat Pavilion at the Fab-Show held in Mumbai.
Dr. Bhattacharya said: It will be our endeavor that the stalls in this Fab Show get a business of at least Rs 3500 crore.
