Mumbai: In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has lodged a complaint with the cyber cell of the city police about a fake video message of Congress. In the video, the actor is seen urging people to vote for Congress before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In the video that went viral on the social media platform ‘X’, Aamir is seen asking people about the Rs 15 lakh missing from their bank accounts. Khan issued a clarification soon after the video, claiming that he had taken action against fake videos. He said that he has never supported any political party in his entire career.
Aamir’s official spokesperson issued a statement on Tuesday saying, ‘We are concerned by the recent viral video alleging that Aamir Khan is promoting a particular political party. He would like to clarify that this is a fake video and is completely false. “They have reported the matter to various authorities concerned, including filing a First Information Report (FIR) with the Cyber Crime Cell of Mumbai Police.”
The statement said Aamir has never supported any political party, but he urges Indians to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The statement said, ‘We want to clarify that Aamir Khan has never supported any political party in his 35-year-long career. He has dedicated his efforts to raising public awareness through public awareness campaigns of the Election Commission in the last several elections. Khan would like to urge all Indians to come out and vote and be an active part of our electoral process.
