Actress Anurekha Bhagat, best known for her roles in ‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2- Agni Pariksha’, ‘Upanyas’ and ‘Farzie’ starring Shahid Kapoor. She recently played her first lead role in the Watcho exclusive series ‘State Vs Ahuja’. In the series, actress Anurekha plays a maid named Deepa Sawant, who accuses Bollywood actor Ansh Ahuja (played by Ashmit Patel) of rape. Despite initial doubts about joining the series, Anurekha ultimately decided to take up the role, a decision she spoke about in a recent interview.

Actress Anurekha said, initially, when I was offered the series, considering its concept, I thought many times about whether I should do this series or not. However, Deepa’s character was so strong that I couldn’t stop myself from saying yes. This is a character due to which I faced many challenges as an artiste. The character does not fit neatly into any good or bad categories, instead he creates different situations for himself. While playing the character of Deepa, how she reacts to different situations was a valuable learning experience for me as an actor.

He further added, “Also, what strengthened my conviction after being a part of this Watcho exclusive series was that the character of Deepa took me out of my comfort zone and took me out of my fear of swimming. Gave the opportunity to. The team of the show was looking for an artiste who knew how to swim, I did not have that skill, which was the first challenge for me. I was afraid of losing the role, so I took up the challenge and enrolled in a nearby swimming class. This decision not only made me get this role, but also made me feel happy and proud to do it. The ‘State Vs Ahuja’ series not only helped me overcome my fears but also helped me grow as a person and an artiste.

‘State Vs Ahuja’ is the story of Bollywood superstar Ansh Ahuja (Ashmit Patel), who is accused of rape by his maid, throwing him into a whirlpool of controversy. The series is a gripping mystery, investigation and courtroom drama with unexpected twists that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats. This interesting question arises in everyone’s mind whether Ansh has actually committed a crime or is there some hidden agenda behind it?
