Om Raut-directed Adipurush released on June 16 after several delays. Starring Prabhas as Raghav, the film was brutally trolled on its opening day for its VFX and dialogues. However, some also felt that Prabhas did justice to his role in the film. The early estimates of the first day suggest that Adipurush got a bang opening at the theatres. The film may even touch the Rs 100 crore mark on Day 1 across all languages!
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala has dropped the confirmed box office figures of Adipurush. The film earned Rs 140 crore (gross) globally. As per Sacnilk data, the film earned Rs 36 crore in Hindi belt, Rs 48 crore in Telugu, Rs 0.40 crore in Malayalam, Rs 0.70 crore in Tamil and Rs 0.4 crore in Kannada. The total collection at the domestic box office is Rs 85.5 crore. Now it is safe to assume that Adipurush witnessed the biggest opener of the year.

About Adipurush
Written and directed by Om Raut, Adipurush is a mythological tale based on Valmiki’s Ramayana. The film stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. They play the roles of Raghav, Janaki and Lankesh respectively in the film. Sunny Singh and Devdutt Nag are part of the supporting cast.
Adipurush is the costliest Indian film, made on a budget of Rs 500 crore. The film saw several postponements and controversies over the course of two years.
