New Delhi: Singer-TV presenter Aditya Narayan came into limelight on Monday after a purported video was widely shared on social media, in which he is seen hitting a viewer’s mic and snatching his phone and throwing it in the air during a performance.
Reports said the incident took place at a college in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, but it was not immediately clear where and when it happened. There was no reaction from the singer or the organizers on this matter.
The authenticity of this video, in which Aditya is seen performing on the song “Aaj Ki Raat” from “Don” (2006), could not be confirmed. He is the son of singer duo Udit Narayan and Deepa Jha and is best known for the songs “Tattad Tatad” and “Ishkyaun Dishkyaun” from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Ram Leela”. Aditya started trending on ‘X’ soon after the video aired and many social media users criticized the singer for his behaviour.
Singer Arjun Kanungo said, “This is wrong. The fan should take legal action.” One person wrote, 0.01 percent famous, 99.99 percent ego. Another user wrote, who gave them the right to do this. In 2017, a video of Narayan allegedly quarreling with airport officials over the issue of excess luggage went viral on social media. A year later, the singer was arrested after allegedly hitting an autorickshaw with his car.
