Anand Mahindra praised Massey, who played the lead role in the film, and wrote, ‘Vidhu Chopra does a great job of casting. Each character is believable in their role and they turn in serious, emotional performances. But Vikrant Massey delivers a stellar performance that is worthy of a National Film Award. He was not just acting the character’s life, but living it.
He further wrote, ‘Narrative style: Vidhu Chopra forcefully reminds us that great cinema is about great stories. Period, and that special effects can’t compete with the simplicity and authenticity of a well-told story. The highlight for me was the interview scene. Yes, it may sound a bit corny, but the intense dialogue makes this sequence stick out before your eyes and show you what India needs to do to build a new India.
