One of the most iconic and memorable places in Ahmedabad is the Sabarmati Riverfront. Now beyond it is the Adani Sportsline managed sports park, which will provide the best sports infrastructure to the people of the city and the state. Designed with facilities to support the sporting culture and encourage a healthy and fit lifestyle, the Sports Park hopes to bring out the best sporting talent from Gujarat.

Adani Sportsline won the rights of the sports park through intense bidding and today, on 2nd September, the park was inaugurated by Mayor Kiritbhai Parmar, Director of Adani Enterprises, Pranav Adani, Ms. Mithali Raj, Former Captain, Indian Women’s Cricket, City ruling party Dandak Arun Singh Rajput, Leader of City Ruling Party Bhaskarbhai Bhatt, Standing Committee Chairman Hitesh Barot, , Kaushikbhai Jain, MLA, Amitbhai P. Shah, MLA, Surendrabhai Patel, Chairman, SRFDCL Project,Dr. Kiritbhai Solanki, MP, M. Thennarasan, Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad, Keshav Verma, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, SRFDCL, Smt. Geetaben Patel, Dy. It was done in the august presence of the Mayor, and Rajesh Kumar Dave, Chairman of the Manoranjan Cultural and Heritage Committee.

The Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park is open to all, has a jogging track, gymnasium and children’s play area, as well as several courts for pickleball, basketball, volleyball and tennis and cricket pitches. Also, a skating rink with skateboards will be available for visitors and learners. Sports parks encourage wider participation in sports by providing accessible opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds through the option to book slots and enjoy the game.

The sports park will have various academies which will help in introducing various sports to children in the age group of 5 to 7 years. The youth will then be allowed to choose a sport of their choice with scientific training methods, based on their abilities, interests and aptitudes, and focus exclusively on strength and conditioning.

The process is designed to help identify sporting talents in the city and state so that they can be rapidly channeled into more appropriate programs for further development.
Mithali Raj said, “The Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park is a wonderful initiative, and it is great for Adani Sportsline to come forward and adopt it. Sometimes, in sports in India, this small initiative is sorely lacking as it helps in ensuring top-notch infrastructure for generations to come. I am hopeful that the cricket nets here will help in uncovering the talents who will represent India in the years to come.
