Mumbai (Uttam Hindu News): Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgan starrer film ‘Maidan’ is going to be released on Eid in April. Ajay Devgan breaks his silence on the box-office clash between ‘Maidan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ (BMCM). Akshay Kumar and action star Tiger Shroff are in the lead roles in this film.
‘Maidan’ and BMCM are all set to clash with each other at the box-office. Both the films will be released on the occasion of Eid in April. Superstar Ajay Devgan spoke to the media at the trailer launch of ‘Maidan’ at a multiplex in Juhu area of Mumbai.
Journalists asked the actor questions about the box-office clash between the two films. In response, Ajay Devgan said, “I was waiting for this question. Look, first of all I wouldn’t call it a clash. I would never want 2 films to release together, the obvious reason being that both the films suffer losses in terms of collections. But there are some situations in which you have no option but to release your film along with another film. Such things are sometimes not in our control.”
Ajay Devgan further said, “Both the films are of different genres. Akshay Kumar, I and everyone are like a family and we are best friends. We do not see it as a conflict, our perspective is different. For us it is a big weekend, festival time, which will benefit our film. I hope, in fact, I am confident that both the films will do good business.”
The film ‘Maidan’ also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh. The film is set to release in theaters on the occasion of Eid in April. The makers have not yet announced the exact release date of the film.
