Akshay Kumar will soon be seen portraying the life of a real life hero in the film Capsule Gill. In the film, Akshay Kumar will appear in the role of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill. This is India’s first coal mine rescue. Now the makers have changed the name of the film. According to sources, the film has now been titled The Great Indian Rescue. The makers feel that it does justice to the plot of the film. Also, he believes that the title has merit.
The film is based on an incredible true rescue mission and what better title than The Great Indian Rescue. The film was shot last year in Yorkshire. The film is based on former Additional Chief Mining Engineer, Late Jaswant Gill, who saved the lives of 65 people trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal in 1989. Akshay’s turban look has also been released from this film. The film is all set to hit the theaters this year. Trade sources say that this could be Akshay’s next release after Selfie, though Soorarai Pottru remake is slated for September 1. Now it remains to be seen which film will hit the theaters first.
Capsule Gill aka The Great Indian Rescue is produced by Vasu Bhagnani under the banner of Pooja Entertainment and directed by Tinnu Suresh Desai, who directed the National Award winning film Rustom.
