Akshay Kumar will give up Canadian passport, said- India is everything for me

Mumbai | Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who will soon be seen in the upcoming film ‘Selfie’, is all set to give up his Canadian passport and has applied to change his citizenship status. Earlier also the superstar had said that he would convert his passport to India’s, but he was not able to do so due to the delay caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. But, now it looks like the actor will soon get an Indian passport.

During the interview in the first episode of the new season of ‘Seedhi Baat’ on news channel Aaj Tak, Akshay said, India is everything for me. Whatever I have earned, whatever I have got, I have got it from here. And I’m lucky that I get the chance to give back. Feel bad when people say anything without knowing anything.

Revealing how the Canadian passport scenario came into existence, the ‘Bachchan Pandey’ superstar said, “I thought brother, my films are not working and work has to be done. I went there for work. My friend was in Canada and he said, ‘Come here’. I applied and off I went. I had only two films left to release and luckily both of them became superhits.

My friend said, ‘Go back, start working again’. I got a few more films and kept getting more work. I forgot that I had a passport. I never thought that I should replace this passport but now yes, I have applied for replacement of my passport and once I got the status of relinquishment from Canada.(IANS)
