As Lord Krishna had come unannounced and after the usual lunch, Draupadi was upset that she could not prepare a feast befitting her stature. But Lord Krishna consoled a dejected Draupadi and took out a small herb left in a pot that had previously contained the food and said that the herb would suffice as the Pandavas’ love and affection had already filled their hearts and stomachs. Lord Krishna then granted him a boon through which he was presented with the Akshaya Patra – the divine unbreakable vessel – by the Sun God. Hence, it is believed that what is bought today will always provide continuous dividends.
