Alia Bhatt’s next film Jigra based on brother-sister relationship, release date revealed

Alia Bhatt is all set to return to the theaters with her upcoming film Jigra. On Tuesday, Dharma Productions shared the announcement of the title of Alia’s upcoming film on its social media account. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film will mark the actor’s eighth collaboration with filmmaker and guru Karan Johar. Along with the title, a motion poster of the film was also unveiled by the makers, hinting towards the story of the film. Alia will also produce the film with Karan’s Dharma Productions. Jigra is scheduled to release in theaters in September 2024.
Karan Johar announces ‘return of his Jigra’ Alia Bhatt
Karan Johar shared the motion poster of Jigra on his Instagram account with an emotional caption. He wrote in the caption- “My Jigra Aliabhatt returns once again in this extraordinary story directed by Vasanbala. A story of unbreakable love and unwavering courage!”
The motion poster hints that the story of Jigra is about a sister’s love for her brother and how she will leave no stone unturned to protect her sibling. The video shows an artwork of Alia in a shirt and trousers with a backpack. The actor can be seen standing on the streets surrounded by neon lights and hoardings. Although Alia’s face is not shown in the poster, her voiceover can be heard in the background.

Starring Alia Bhatt in the lead role, the film marks Vasan’s first onscreen collaboration with Bala. In this film, Alia will work with Karan Johar in a production for the first time. Responding to the same, Alia wrote on her Instagram account, “From debuting in Dharma Productions to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like I have come full circle from where I started. “I’m circling.” Jigra is scheduled for theatrical release on September 27, 2024.
Meanwhile, Alia will also be seen in Jee Le Zara with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. The actor will reportedly star opposite Sharvari Wagh in YRF’s first female-led espionage film.
