The 69th National Film Awards for the year 2021 were announced on Thursday. Hindi film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ has won the National Award for Best Feature Film.
At the same time, Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Award for her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and Kriti Sanon for her performance in ‘Mimi’.
Actor Allu Arjun created history by winning the National Award for Best Actor for his blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. Soon after Allu was announced as the winner of the Best Actor award, a video of him celebrating the moment with team Pushpa surfaced online.
In the video, Allu Arjun got emotional while sharing a long and warm hug with director Sukumar. The rest of the film’s team was seen cheering and celebrating for the actor.
Allu Arjun also became the first Telugu actor to win the National Award. Fans are congratulating him on this achievement.
Pushpa: The Rise is the first film in the franchise directed by Sukumar. Released on December 17, 2021, Allu Arjun played the role of Pushparaj aka Pushpa, a truck driver who smuggles red sandalwood for a living.
Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead Srivalli, while Fahadh Faasil was introduced as the main antagonist.
Celebrating this milestone, Pushpa’s official Twitter handle shared, “After ruling the box office, Pushpa Raj reigns #NationalAwards icon star @alluarjun, TFI best actor winner at the National Awards Became the first actor of #AlluArjun to win #Best Actor award at 69th National Awards for #Pushpa.”
Meanwhile, Jr NTR tweeted for Allu Arjun, “Congratulations @alluarjun bawa. You deserve the success and awards you got for #Pushpa.” Responding to her, the actor commented, “Thank you so much bawa for your genuine wishes. Touched Polite.”
