The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer Amar Singh Chamkila has finally been released. Netflix on Thursday shared the much-awaited trailer of the upcoming biopic on social media. Not only this, the trailer was also officially launched at an event in Mumbai in the presence of the lead actors of the film. This film will be released on the streaming platform on April 12 on the occasion of Baisakhi.
The trailer reveals that the film has been shot on real locations. Parineeti Chopra is playing the female lead role in the film, i.e. she is playing the character of Chamkila’s wife and singing partner Amarjot. the streaming giant wrote on Instagram along with the trailer. “Tikla, gaudy, colorful – that is Amar Singh Chamkila. Amar Singh Chamkila premieres on 12th April, only on Netflix!

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film’s soundtrack is composed by music maestro AR Rahman. Apart from Diljit and Parineeti, Vipin Katyal, Rahul Mittra and Nisha Bano also play supporting roles in the film. The film revolves around the life of the composer of the same name, whose controversial lyrics attracted both fame and criticism before his untimely death at the age of 27.
The film marks the collaboration of Imtiaz Ali, composer AR Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil for the first time in nine years. The film features six original Hindi songs, sung by Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. And, these are songs that were recorded live during the shooting rather than being recorded in a studio.
